Where did those weeks go? And so it begins again, a new year with new plans. If you’re planning on catching more live music then here’s a list of where to start. The pre-christmas benefits continuing with Bad Soup, this Friday on the Grand Social. Some of Dublins more interesting indie band are on offer. For those under 18 and who struggle to see live music there’s an all ages event in the Workmans on Saturday afternoon. This is a really positive venture and hopefully we will see more of these in 2018.

This weeks sees the 3rd Dublin Bowie Festival This is a citywide event celebrating the artistic output of David Bowie; incorporating live music, DJs, art, cinema, fashion, banter, quizzes, markets and lots more. Special guests: Spiders From Mars drummer Woody Woodmansey, Blackstar/The Next Day/Heathen/Reality album cover designer Jonathan Barnbrook and Gavin Friday.

It also sees the annual tribute to Phil Lynnott, now over two nights in whelans and the First fortnight festival
