After the excitment of punk festivals and bars being open for business on Good Friday we are back to a normal week of gigs in Dublin.

An interesting affair is the night of promised hypnotic noiserock and zeitgeisty punkrock taking place in Dropdead twice on Tuesday

Both bands are on the Norwegian undergroundlabel Tonehjulet Kraftpest.

Regn is a duo with members from Arabrot, Blackbird Raum and Cinder Well who mixes explosions and repeating patterns with doomy dark riffage and neanderthal jazz

Gøttemia is what had happened if the beach boys and ramones hadnt been two bands but just one and somehow also from various small norwegian towns. Actual living breathing punkrock

5 euros (noone turned away for lack of funds tho but we are touring and the world is a big scary & pricey place)

Also this week the Outcasts are coming down to Dublin to record a live album. Fresh from being featured in the Ulster Museum last week for the part their music played in offering an alternative culture during the troubles in Northern Ireland the recording is happening on Saturday in the Grand Social. The band are making a weekend of it and playing a acoustic show in Toners on Sunday afternoon.

3 other notable DIY gigs this week are all on Friday – the estranged are in the Jigsaw and Amanaka are in Thomas House whilst El Clash Combo and Las Romanos play some songs we are all familiar with in Drop Dead Twice
