Henry Shefflin
The autobiography
Penguin press

I don’t know why I keep coming back to autobiographies. Well I do, but i shouldn’t. There’s people I admire as sports people, activists, involved in the arts. Because of that I think I need to read about them just because they publish a book.

I know what they did, I know how they played or acted but somehow I hope I can get some more insight. Most of the times I don’t and I just get a personal history. Shefflin was some hurler, this book reminds us of the games, the scores, the man of the match performances. It also reminds us of the many private hospitals in Ireland as he travelled through them at the end of seasons of bumps bruises and serious injury. Little else in it really. But he was some hurler.
