The gigs are coming back as are the clashes. Next Saturday sees Wonk Unit making their long awaited return to Ireland. They have been described by many as a modern day Snuff and their gigs are a hark back to those fun irreverent tuneful snuff nights? Just to get the punks confused though there’s a return to Dublin hardcore gigs in the Hut that night too as Bitter Pill have the venue booked. Another fascinating one that night is in the Pepper Cannister for Mise Fresin with a mixtape of Irelands hip hop and eclectic up and coming artists. Not forgetting the beautiful sounds of Big Thief in the Stadium on the same night.

Los Bitchos are in the Workmans on Tuesday, Denise Chaila is in the Olympia on Friday and if you are looking for a fun night of skanking the Skatuesques are in the Grand Social on Friday. The week finishes off with the launch of the wonderful Lee Harveys new 7″ on Sunday afternoon in the Wild Duck. Also playing is Tony St Leger whose latest vinyl output is on Trouble Pilgrims excellent new album.

  1. Bad news today that the Fretwell gig on Saturday at Whelans has been postponed until August – apparently Stephen Fretwell has hurt his back.

Fingers crossed we’re all around to enjoy that!
