The new project from the Hope Collective is The Irish Pop Archive.

Starting in the mid-1980s Dublin’s Hope Collective supported the local music scene by
promoting gigs and publishing fanzines. In the past few years, we’ve been busy documenting Ireland’s music scene with a series of live chats around the country. At these events, we are recording and preserving the stories of Ireland’s musicians, gig promoters, record shop workers, journalists, producers and record label staff.

This means the stories will be available for future researchers and anyone interested in the
music scene.

The new project from the Hope Collective is The Irish Pop Archive.

By doing this we aim to preserve, and to make available, Ireland’s rich pop music culture. We are gathering records, magazines, ‘zines, photos, tapes, posters and other memorabilia.
The Irish Pop Archive is a do-it-yourself project and has both a digital and a physical form.
One of our first projects is a collection of digitized concert tickets. If you have an old concert ticket, and you’d like it to be included in the digital collection, please just scan it as JPEG file and send it on to us. It will be displayed with your name. We are happy to accept donations of any items that you have and would like to be preserved as part of the archive.

If you have any old music magazines, records, tapes or other items we’d be delighted to hear
from you. And we’re open to ideas and help from anyone who would like to be involved.
