Very excited about this. In Paris to see The Ex. I first saw them in Dublin in 1990 when we put them on with Dog Faced Herman’s in the Fox and Pheasant. They played 2 gigs that evening thanks to the ents officer in NCAD who got them a gig in The waterfront their sound was mesmerising their existence absolutely necessary. I’ve since seen them many times in different countries but this is my first gig to go to in France. Vive The Ex

The gig didn’t disappoint. The Ex reinvent themselves every few years. Maybe this is the new generation with the same band members. Andy and terri still play guitar tennis using all sorts of items like screwdrivers instead of plectrums attacking their guitars. Arnold finds a guitar riffs and implants it into our psyche while Kat delivers a pounding rhythm in each song that never fails to move me. 10 new songs tonight, all coming out on their new album which isn’t even out yet. The crowd cared not a bit as the hangar like venue was full of joy and admiration. The band came back on for 2 songs off the last album. I sang along, I marvelled in how lucky I was to be able to see such a good band. Incredible night
