Of all the bands to make a documentary about Paranoid Visions must be one that is needed for any music historian looking at ireland.
The documentary spans the 4 decade period the band have existed, despite a lapse through the middle as Deko briefly went on to other things. For Dublin punk this band trailblazed and brought many along with them. Nearly always with a helping hand.
The documentary took 6 years to make and is done by Clifford and Clifford a father and son venture. Dave Clifford is also known for his work with Vox which was a regular fanzine on the Dublin punk scene in the early days. These people have pedigree and the documentary covers so much of the world of the Visions.
It doesn’t shy away from the violence of the early days of the band. Dublin was in monochrome and gigs could be perilous. It added to the intensity and eventually all calmed down. The situation we have now is when Paranoid Visions must play it is like a family gathering, one with attitude of course.
The documentary is being launched in the sugar club on Sunday September 28th complete with q&a. Tickets available here
