Demented Promotions put on a lot of good stuff around Dublin, teetering on the edges of punk and hardcore. Every Time I Die are from Buffalo in new York, they are on the rockier side of hardcore and they released their eight album, Low Teens, on Epitaph last year. They are playing in Whelans on Monday with fellow metalcore troubadors Knocked Loose and Higher Power. Saturday night sees Protomartyr bringing their post punk onto that Whelans stage. Oh Boland and Sauna Youth complete the line up.
jinx lennonfrom Dundalk is bringing his punk rock poetry rap to the Underground on Friday night. Lee Harvey’s, who we interviewed recently bring their 77 influenced punk to Toner’s On Sunday afternoon. These Sunday afternoon sessions in Toners are producing some cracking gigs and this Sunday should be no different especially with Sugarplum Suicide and the turn being on the bill
We did a feature last week on the upcoming Dublin Feminist Film Festival and whilst they’re not gigs there’s some really interesting films coming up in the New Theatre over the three days
