This is the fifth album from Melbourne, Australia DIY popsters. It cranks out the joy from the home studios of key song-writers Mia Schoen and Marc Regueiro-Mckelvie.
The ten songs on offer at times can seem like Heavenly dipping their toes into power pop ala Elvis Costello. Westie certainly starts that way, with Little House Fires taking on a slightly less powerful feel but still carrying that pop lo-fi vibe. It’s all very pleasant throughout with Mia’s vocals low in the mix but always accessable. Treat yourself to a seat in the open air on a day with a blue sky overhead and enjoy.
