The launch of the Punks Listen fanzine In aid of the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal took place in Little Whelan’s, Wexford St, Dublin on Monday 18 November – admission was free but the fanzine was €10.
We created 2 panels with some people we felt could tell some interesting stories. It was a continuation in our series of such events. People involved creatively who’s art or participation should be documented.
Tony St Leger kicked off with 2 songs before the first panel where Michael Murphy chatted with:
Aoife O’Leary (musician, composer), John Brereton (SACK, editor of The Goo), Louisa Moss (DJ/presenter Dublin City FM), Freda Hughes (Poster Fish Promotions), Stu Daly (Chewie) in the first panel.
Stu Daly then played 2 songs and for the second panel Michael Murphy chatted with: Daniele Tort (pirate radio DJ, Paris, France) Eugene Connolly (Dublin music scene) Frances Roe (Jam Jar Jail) Meryl Streek (musician)and Rita Hynes (archivist, Drogheda fanzine library). The evening finished with John Fleming reading a piece and himself and Niall Toner from The Prongs playing a song.
The whole event saw over €1,000 raised for Irish Red Cross and launched the zine.  it was filmed by our friend Daniele and is in two parts on Youtube
