Dead Pioneers
Po$t American
Back for a second album this is not the difficult release that befalls many of their contemporaries. Dead Pioneers songs are statements. Statements expressing sentiment about the state of the world and how we as people deal with each other. Their songs are manifestos for a better environment. They are calling people out on their racism and are looking for us to find our way through it.
Greg’s voice breaks into a tune sporadically going from spitting the words to singing at times in between tracks. Musically it comes from the hardcore field of things. At times it could be MDC singing John Wayne Was A Nazi but at others the breakneck speed slams to a stop and we get some melody.
Every now and then a record comes on my turntable that makes me stop in my tracks. When I put it on I need to find out more about the band. This is one such record, the second time it’s happened for Dead Pioneers. These are an important part of the underground. A vital cog in the education of a generation of music lovers.

Most exciting band I’ve come across in many years.
