Black Bank Folk had a great record out to coincide with the centenary of the Irish Easter Rising so its nice to se them out with a new set of folk songs in Whelans this week, as a precursor to the Folk Festival that is on there this weekend. Oh Boland and Extravision promises to be a really interesting gig in the Bello Bar, Both bands are fiercely independent but sonically dip /more into pop than punk. Some psychadelic offerings are being made in The Thomas House on the same night. The punk rock will be flying the following evening with The Frenzy of Tongs in the Grand social. They are playing with Coathanger Solution and the Thrash Blues in what should be a great night. Norwegian metallers Combichrist are in the same venue the following night.
Another special gig in Liberty Hall on the 11th is a Save Moore Street Benefit Show with lots of special guests.
