I Wish You Well is the newest single from MYLO BYBEE, the pop rock gazers from Idaho, USA. The song taps into vocalist Tyler Schlagenhauf’s years living off the grid in St. Lawrence Island in rural Alaska. This is an area, not too far from the US Border with Russia where silence is louder, distances stretch endlessly, and each day feels both brutally isolating and fiercely alive. The song seeks to capture the raw emotion of looking back on an experience so profound it reshapes you forever. It has reshaped Tyler and that is reflected here. It’s a reflection on how stepping into a world so different from anything you’ve known can crack you open in unexpected ways, leaving you grateful, haunted, and transformed all at once.
The song is from the forthcoming Revisions EP which has sweeping song structure moving from an alternative rock version of Fleet Foxes to more established bands in that genre like death cab for cutie. Tyler’s voice has that splendour of fleet foxes that wraps your ears in a warmth you want to keep.
