Not quite up there with Billy Childish in terms of of prolifically releasing music I’d still say 9 albums in 6 years is a decent output this 11 track collection sees over 200 songs released by Glenn Donaldson since those covid 2020 Lockdowns.
Donaldson is like the steady centre back on a football team. An ever present, one to be relied on and someone you know will be looking after their teammates now matter what. In the same way Ireland’s Patrick Barrett takes beautiful pop tunes and creates an atmosphere of warmth around them the reds pinks and purples open their arms to you with their music. Each song is an invitation to have a cup of tea with band while the wind rages outside. This tea heats you up, bonds you and creates a togetherness in spirit.
There’s a beauty within each track, carefully curated and lovingly created. This is not for stardom or record sales but it feels like Donaldson has you the listener in mind right throughout.
