Soakie
La Vida En Mus
Spanning 2 continents Soakie can about when 2 people from Mew York were on holiday in Melbourne. They met some locals, jammed some songs together and formed a band. 2 years later their debut album came out.
8 rip roaring songs with the whirlwind feel of Rudimentary Peni and an aural punk rock assault. This is no holiday Romance as each songs spits out venom. Side 1 starts with Nuke The Frats in a rage against those of privilege. Side 2 proclaims “there’s too many boys on stage” and it’s a similar tone throughout both sides.
Women rocking out speaking out about misogyny and ignorance is absolutely necessary.
Blink and you will miss it but what a glorious noise.
