Jawbox are finally getting to come to town in an exciting Irish debut. 2 days later The Descendents are bringing their distinctive pop hardcore sound. PIL are playing the same night as John Lydon flies the flag despite the Pistols documentary on Disney Channel. The punk scene is well represented on Sunday with Snake, mana and Assault playing in the Hut in what promises to be an invitation to the explore the DIY scene in Dublin.
Vulpynes and Lugosi are representing the modern day scene in the Wild Duck on Sunday afternoon as the Alternative Social Sunday keeps going from strength to strength. It is some week for the folk fans too – Grace Petrie is bringing her political sounds to Whelans, Peggy Seeger in the Pavillion, Ye Vagabonds in Vicar Street with the intriguing album release by Myles Manley on Wednesday in the Workmans. I didn’t even mention Showaddywaddy or Drive By Truckers or Clap Your hands Say Yeah. Some week people, some week.
