Thursday Tunes – Tom Holliston
For many people Tom Holliston is better know as one of the Hanson Brothers, or more notoriusly one of NoMeansNo who played some classic gigs in Dublin. He was touring and recording with both of these legendary Canadian bands for 16 years. He has now started playing solo gigs which of course still holds a nod to a musical variance with playful and obscure pop culture themes and commentary.
Canadian songwriter Selina Martin is touring Europ with Tom. Selina has been part of a thriving Toronto music scene for almost two decades, releasing 4 highly acclaimed solo albums.
In advance of their gig in Dublin on Dec 8, I asked Tom to pick some tunes for your thursday
Pastoral; Piano Sonata 15; 4th movement – Beethoven
Click Clack – Captain Beefheart

Here Comes The City – The Go Betweens
Jimmy Hamilton & The Duke’s Men – Slapstick

And for old times sake here’s an old Nomeansno Dublin gig doing the rounds on youtube
