A good week for the punks in Dublin. The tuneful hardcore fans can enjoy two nights of the Menzingers, tonight and tomorrow, old school fans can enjoy Therapy? and the Outcasts in the Olympia on Thursday while the diy aficionados have two nights in a row in the Hut in Phibsboro. Unfortunately (for me anyway) both of these gigs clash with New Model Army’s rescheduled marathon shows in the Button Factory. Originally down for two years ago to celebrate the bands 40th Anniversary there will be a 5 hour set from the band spread over 2 nights. I am awaiting this with some trepidation as I’m a firm believer that bands don’t really need to play for more that 45 minutes. If this or Golpe from Italy don’t rock your boat for Friday then you always have the punk rock sound of Dundalks The Gakk in the Thomas House with Coathanger Solution. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg
