While the record doesn't quite convey the anarchic mess that sometimes their gigs can be and it doesn't capture Deko at its rawest spitting venom at the audience and throwing caustic remarks at professions and politicians. It does capture the melody in many of their songs and has Aoife and Deko's voice at a level that isn't competing with the instruments.

Friday for me will be Tom Holliston + Simon Wells in Anseo. Excitement is building up in Hope Towers for this. Simon was in Snuff and Tom was in Nomeansno- what an incredible pedigree. Close your eyes and it might be 1990 all over again. Umack have really pulled a special one for this.

Costello and Steve Nieve curated a two hour set of classic songs over the past 4 decades. Nieve on keyboards, mouth organ and whatever you’re having yourself provided the perfect musical accompaniment as Elvis’s voice shone through at times. Shipbuilding had me close to tears along with beautiful versions of Veronika and She.
