And so like all things it comes to an end. Blackpool will go back to trying attract tourists to keep the remaining shops open and the punks all troop back to reality. For a long weekend we reconnected with everyone, we escaped our realities (oh and we queued as well so there was a bit of reality!!)

Play of the day brings trouble
This is not the sound of the crowd. It’s certainly not the sound of the spirit level on immaculately, generically identikit city streets. This is the sound of the cracks in the concrete, the splinter in the grandfather clock. The flower in the dustbin. The torn page, full of wisdom, trampled underfoot in the rain.

It’s easy to know 40 years later how relevant something really was when the needle hits the record and you are brought back in a time capsule.
Play of the day – the dressing rooms are starting to unlock
Continuing on with the excellent series of benefits is the latest Locked in the dressing Room comps. As the light is starting to emerge on live music once again it will be more difficult to remember how many venues and staff were left with no income. For most reading this blog live music was a pulse we clung on to. We looked forward to the camaraderie of gigs, the explosion of sound and sight on stage as our world revolved so much around music. That came to a halt as we re-assesed and some tried to recreate that experience online. But it was difficult. Live In the Dressing Room was created to show support to venues by the musicians.
